1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Atlas website, the Atlas waitlist, and any future Atlas products or services made available through web or mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing the website or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What Atlas is

Atlas is a culture-first, identity-led connection platform. It is designed to support discovery and connection between users based on information they choose to share.

Atlas is not a dating service, not a matchmaking agency, and does not guarantee connections, outcomes, or compatibility.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information where requested and to use the Service only in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.

4. Waitlist and early access

• Joining the waitlist does not guarantee early access or any specific launch timeline.
• Early access may be limited and released in phases.
• We may contact you about updates related to Atlas. You can opt out once emails begin.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes (but is not limited to):

• Harassing, threatening, defaming, abusing, exploiting, or impersonating others
• Posting, sending, or sharing unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise harmful content
• Spamming, soliciting, scamming, or using the Service for unauthorised commercial purposes
• Attempting to access accounts, systems, or data that you do not have permission to access
• Scraping, automated harvesting, reverse engineering, or interfering with the Service
• Uploading or distributing malware, malicious code, or harmful material

6. User interactions

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users and for any content, information, or messages you share through the Service.

Atlas does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for user behaviour, user-generated content, or communications between users.

If you choose to connect, communicate, or meet with other users, you do so entirely at your own discretion and risk.

Atlas does not routinely conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, or independent verification of user-provided information, and makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content or information shared by users.

7. Intellectual property

All branding, design, logos, software, text, graphics, and other content made available by Atlas belong to Atlas Technologies (Pty) Ltd unless stated otherwise.

The Atlas name, logo, and associated marks are trademarks of Atlas Technologies (Pty) Ltd. Unauthorised use is strictly prohibited.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise use Atlas materials without prior written permission.

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service. However, by submitting content to Atlas, you grant Atlas a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, and use that content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, promoting, securing, and providing the Service.

8. Suspension and termination

Atlas may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable law, or have otherwise created risk, harm, or possible legal exposure for Atlas or other users.

You may stop using the Service at any time. Where account deletion functionality is available, you may also request or initiate account deletion in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

9. No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Atlas disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, or reliability.

Atlas does not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free from harmful components, or that any connections, matches, or interactions will lead to any specific outcome.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Atlas Technologies (Pty) Ltd and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, business, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your inability to use the Service, user-generated content, or your interactions with other users.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Atlas is not responsible for the conduct of any user on or off the Service.

11. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after any update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Paid features and subscriptions

Atlas may introduce paid features, premium services, subscriptions, or other paid offerings in the future. If and when paid services are introduced, additional terms, pricing, billing conditions, and cancellation details may apply and will be presented to users at that time.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict of law principles.
